FARMINGTON — A Wilton woman was indicted this week on charges of sexual abuse in connection with a 2015 case in which three adults were accused of victimizing a child.

The Franklin County grand jury indicted Tami Ouellette, 43, on felony charges of gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact, and visual sexual aggression against a child.

In February 2015, Ouellette; her husband, Jamie Ouellette, 38, also of Wilton; and Anna LaRochelle, 26, of Anson were arrested and accused of sexually molesting a child under the age of 14 since July 2014 and forcing the child to watch the adults have sex, according to an affidavit written by Franklin County sheriff’s Detective Kenneth Charles.

Tami Ouellette was originally charged with unlawful sexual contact and visual sexual aggression against a child. However, those charges were dismissed in September by Franklin County Assistant District Attorney Claire Andrews in order for the state to pursue an indictment on the more serious charge of gross sexual assault, according to court documents. The basis for pursuing the elevated charge was because of the discovery of new information, according to the documents.

A message left for Andrews seeking comment Friday on the details of the new information was not returned.

Jamie Ouellette and LaRochelle pleaded guilty to the charges against them in September. Jamie Ouellette pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful sexual contact, visual sexual aggression against a child, and illegal possession of a firearm. LaRochelle pleaded guilty to charges of visual sexual assault against a child and unlawful sexual contact.

Jamie Ouellette and LaRochelle entered Alford pleas, which means that they do not agree with the state’s evidence against them, but conceded that if the case went to jury trials they could be found guilty.

Jamie Ouellette was scheduled to appear in court Friday for sentencing and LaRochelle is scheduled to appear on Nov. 14 for sentencing.
