Rep. Christine Powers, a Democrat, is defending her seat against former Republican legislator Richard Cebra.

They seek to represent House District 68, which covers Baldwin, Cornish, Naples, Sebago and part of Parsonsfield. Both live in Naples.

Neither candidate responded to a Portland Press Herald survey about them and their positions on key issues.

Powers has served two terms as a state representative and is a member of the Transportation Committee. She is also a longtime member of the Naples Board of Selectmen and a former director of the Naples Public Library, according to her biography on the Maine House Democrats website.

Cebra was a state representative from 2004 to 2012, and also served on the Transportation Committee. He briefly served as chairman of the Maine Republican Party, but resigned from that position in 2013 amid tension within the ranks. He owns the Steamboat Landing Miniature Golf Course in Naples, according to his LinkedIn page.
