Lewiston police said Saturday afternoon they have determined that the report of an armed robbery late Saturday morning was unfounded.
Police Sgt. Michael Whalen had said that someone robbed another person at gunpoint at the corner of Howard and Walnut streets about 11:15 a.m. before running away.
But police said later that upon further investigation, they determined that a robbery did not occur.
