I knew I adored Maine, and now I have another reason that I do!
Our rental car died on the highway just outside the Portland jetport, 55 minutes before our flight. We were stranded with our luggage on the highway – waiting for a ride that would take 15 minutes to get there.
Then this lovely couple, who own South Street Linen in Portland, came to our rescue. They pulled over and offered us a ride to the airport. They were kind and generous to take the time to do this, since they were on the same flight we were on.
They helped us load up our luggage, got us comfortably seated in their car and whisked us to the departure gate, where they dropped us off before parking their car. They were true guardian angels to us.
We would not have made our flight without their thoughtfulness. We thank this lovely couple, and we thank Maine for being the lovely state you are and having the most kind and generous inhabitants!
