The Portland Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire in an apartment building at 1066 Forest Ave. on Thursday afternoon.
Fire officials said at least one person was at home when the fire started.
The fire appeared to have been concentrated at the rear of the topmost floor of the three-story building.
The building is near a Starbucks coffee shop, and workers there said they called 911 when they saw smoke coming from the top of the building.
The fire was knocked down around 12:30 p.m.
