LEWISTON — Marcus Gutierrez rushed for two touchdowns and Hamilton scored 17 unanswered points in the second half Saturday to defeat Bates 24-7 in a season-ending NESCAC football game at Garcelon Field.

Bates (3-5) scored on a 19-play, 77-yard drive in just over seven minutes, with Matt Golden going in from the 1 to make it 7-7 with 2:08 left in the half. Golden gained 96 yards on 24 carries.

Hamilton (3-5) pulled away in the third quarter on a 6-yard TD run by Gutierrez and a 41-yard field goal from Robert Morris for a 17-7 lead.

SALVE REGINA 45, MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY 12: Sam Pascale scored three touchdowns as part of a 28-point first quarter and the Seahawks (8-1) went on to beat the Mariners (1-8) at Castine.

Pascale ran for 127 yards and James Dawson added 124 yards on 11 carries with a score for the Seahawks, who led 35-6 at halftime.

Corey Creeger ran for 204 yards on 29 carries, scoring two touchdowns for Maine Maritime.

HUSSON 54, MOUNT IDA 20: Cory Brandon passed for five touchdowns in the first half to lead the Eagles (9-1, 7-0 ECFC) over the Mustangs (4-6, 4-3) at Newton, Massachusetts.

Husson earned the league’s automatic bid and will play in the NCAA Division III tournament that begins next Saturday. The pairings will be announced Sunday night.
