BIDDEFORD — Rita F. Olin, 70, of Biddeford, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at her residence after a one year battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Rita was born in Old Orchard Beach on March 3, 1946, and attended Old Orchard Beach Schools. She worked for many years at Corning Components and at the Biddeford Pepperell. Later, she worked as a housekeeper for various friends in Biddeford Pool. For years, Rita was a very talented, self-taught seamstress. She loved sewing and took great pride in all of her projects, including her daughter’s wedding gown and all of her own curtains. She enjoyed watching her daughters and granddaughters dance, never missing a recital, and watching her son and grandsons race at Beechridge Motor Speedway.

Rita enjoyed singing, especially at karaoke, dancing, feeding the animals in her back yard, spending time with her family and friends and traveling with her family to various places including St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, The Dominican Republic, Haiti, The Bahamas, Aruba, Atlantic City, Newport, Rhode Island, New York and numerous trips to Walt Disney World. Her favorite trip was to Branson, Missouri, which is filled with her love of good old country music. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Andre’s Health Care facility on Sundays and hanging out with all of her friends at the Veteran’s Alliance, dancing to one of her favorite bands, Murky Waters.

Rita was preceded in death by: her parents, Napoleon J. and Emerentienne LaPlante Bolduc; two brothers, Robert and Ralph Bolduc; and her beloved pet Macaw, Sunshine.

Rita is survived by: her long-time partner, Roger Nadeau of Biddeford; three brothers, Roland Bolduc, Raymond Bolduc, Donald Bolduc and his wife, Trish all of Biddeford; five sisters, Jeanne Dutch of Sanford, Irene Daigle and her husband, Raymond, Cecile St. Ours, Lucielle Goudreau and Theresa Major all of Biddeford; two sons, Roland Olin of Parsonsfield and Richard M. Olin and his partner, Ann Merrill of Lyman; two daughters, Tina Turner of Biddeford and Melissa Adams and her husband, David of Biddeford; five granddaughters, Crystal Bigger of Michigan, Samantha Madgey of Standish, Justina Adams, Natasha Adams, and Hanna-Leigh Adams of Biddeford; five grandsons, Richard C. Olin of Waterboro, Eric Olin, Roland Olin, Joshua Turner and Tyler Turner all of Biddeford; six great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters; her best friends, Nancy Marchand of Biddeford and Dolores Philbrook of Old Orchard Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
