SACO — Sylvio J. Boucher, 71, of Saco, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in Scarborough. 

He was born in Quebec on Nov. 27, 1944, a son of Jeanne D’arc Theriault.

He was educated from Quebec schools and came to the United States in 1965.

On August 13, 1977, he married his wife, Rita. He was employed as a carpenter throughout southern Maine, working on many projects including the Excalibur at Funtown USA. 

Sylvio always enjoyed helping others. He was a scout master for Boy Scouts Troop 310 in Saco and also a member of the Loyal Order Moose Lodge 1310.

Sylvio’s hobbies included ice fishing and taking on building projects.

 He was preceded in death by: one sister, Marietta Soucy.

 He is survived by: his wife of 39 years, Rita (Bernier) Boucher; three children, Brian Boucher and his wife, Victoria, Jason Marcoux and Louanne Schoninger; and two grandsons, Cooper and Maxwell Boucher. He is also survived by: one brother, Serge Theriault; four sisters, Gabrielle Galipeault, Line Girgrass, Michelle Theriault and Shirley Theriault; and several nieces and nephews.
