BIDDEFORD—Eva H. Gagne, 89, of Biddeford died on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at Greenwood Center in Sanford after a brief illness.

She was born on Dec. 2, 1927 to Dmytro and Matrona (Hrycki) Hallczuk in Fall River, Massachusetts. She was educated in Kennebunkport schools.

On June 3, 1948 she married Raymond L. Gagne in Arundel. They spent 51 wonderful years together until his death on April 30, 2000. They enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycles and trips to Tennessee.

She worked at the local mills before becoming a CNA. As a CNA she worked at Southridge and Riverridge. She delivered Meals on Wheels locally for over 30 years. She loved helping others and was devoted to her children, family and anyone who needed a helping hand. Her caring nature will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Paula in 2016; a grandson, Timothy Jr., in 2007 as well as her siblings, John, Michael, Stephen, Wasil (William) Hallczuk and Anna Hallczuk Merrill.

Eva is survived by seven children, David Gagne and his wife, Jackie, of Tennessee; James Gagne of Waterboro; Ramona Waldron and her husband. Howard. of East Baldwin; Rodney Gagne and his wife, Nancy, of Biddeford; Mark Gagne and his wife, Kimberley, of Biddeford; Timothy Gagne and his wife, Patricia, of Arundel; Tina Kindly and her husband, Byron, of Indiana; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews

Visiting Hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec., 8, 2016 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, Maine 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Biddeford.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s name may be made to Southern Maine Area Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels program or to the Sam L Cohen Adult Day Center, 136 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074.
