BIDDEFORD — In traditional winter fashion, high school hockey season and snow returned in full force before the weekend closed.

The boys hockey home opener drew such a crowd that a parking spot could not be found outside the Biddeford Ice Arena. Both Falmouth and Biddeford were well supported during the contentious match.

Biddeford took control halfway through the first period, 1-0, and would keep up the rhythm when Brady Crepeau scored again seven minutes into the second period.

Before the Tigers could gain a margin of safety, three minutes before the close of the second period, Falmouth scored a pair of goals to match the Tigers, 2-2. The goals came 1:03 apart and arrived right before the break, preparing Biddeford for a tense third period.

Falmouth lit up the start of the third period, capitalizing on their momentum by scoring with a lengthy 13:28 remaining.

After eight minutes of wide and wild shots on both sides, Biddeford’s Logan Magnant blocked for Ricky Ruck as Ruck scored the Tigers’ matching and last goal, 3-3. Within a minute, Falmouth would break the tie to win their season opener 4-3.
