BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade grade boys basketball team followed up its opening game, a road loss to Bath, with a convincing 56-43 win against Tripp recently.
Leading the way for Brunswick was Cody Larson, who scorched the nets for 23 points on five treys. Evan Kilfoil had a solid floor game and finished with 12 points, while Adam Nussbaum and Ethan Rollins each chipped in with eight.
Tripp’s Hathaway finished with a game-high 26, but the Huskies got up early and kept the lead throughout.
In the seventh-grade game, the Huskies found themselves down by 16 at halftime. Defensive pressure and a team effort cut the lead to four with under a minute left in the fourth quarter, but that was as close as they got before falling, 46-40.
Ethan Driscoll and Isaak Franklin, along with brothers Weston and Dalton Cooper, each finished with nine points to balance the Huskie offense.
