OXFORD — A diesel fuel spill closed Route 26 in Oxford Wednesday morning.

WCSH reports that 1,000 gallons of fuel spilled around 2 a.m. on the road after a manhole cover flipped up and pierced a passing truck’s fuel tank.

A section of Route 26 was expected to be closed until at least late morning while DEP and hazmat crews worked to mop up the fuel,  according to WCSH.
