The Portland Press Herald Toy Fund’s annual month-long raffle generated $2,690, as of Thursday, to help buy toys for children.

And it’s not too late to pitch in and get a shot at winning the grand prize: a package of 9 lift tickets to Maine ski resorts.

The raffle has been running all month with daily drawings for donated prizes that have included gift certificates to a variety of restaurants, a photography package, a portrait of your pet and a Kindle Fire. The winner of the most valuable prize – a package of ski passes worth $500 donated by Ski Maine – will be drawn Saturday.

It costs $10 to buy one raffle ticket, $50 for 6 entries and $100 for 15 entries. All the proceeds go to the toy fund.

To enter the raffle Friday, go to pressheraldtoyfund.org, make a donation and type “raffle” into the dedication line.

The Portland Press Herald Toy Fund in the Spirit of Bruce Roberts uses donations from readers to provide holiday toys to thousands of Maine children who might otherwise not receive holiday gifts because of hardships faced by their parents.

The fund – now in its 67th year – provided gifts during this holiday season to needy families in Cumberland, York, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties.

Donations to help buy the toys can be made on the website or by writing checks to the Portland Press Herald Toy Fund and mailing them to the fund at P.O. Box 7310, Portland, ME 04112. The fund continues to raise money toward its goal of $200,000.
