After stewing for the last couple of days over the comments made by Christopher Mann of Bath last Saturday regarding M.D. Harmon’s death (“Letter to the editor: Columnist’s death doesn’t sanctify his ignorant views”), I felt I had to respond with my first-ever letter to the editor.
I found Mr. Mann’s letter to have served no purpose other than to be hurtful and show spite to Mr. Harmon’s family and friends during a time of what I am sure is intense grief. For the life of me, I can’t understand why he would want such a letter printed. Would he have dared say that to their faces?
It also must be nice to feel oneself so superior that anyone else’s viewpoint that does not conform to his is ignorant.
