BIDDEFORD — Sports fans longing for expanded coverage will be pleased to learn that the Journal Tribune has listened and taken steps to give readers exactly what they’ve been searching for.

Starting today, visitors to the Journal Tribune’s online sports section are going to find that the newspaper has added two new features from the Associated Press that are intended to enhance and beef up our sports content.

Constantly updated throughout the day and evening, these new digital widgets, focused on specific sports, are filled with the latest news, photo galleries, videos, feature stories, schedules, analysis, rankings and more.

The widgets are available all year long by season, and currently we have added Professional Football and College Basketball posted to the Journal Tribune website.

No matter what sport that readers may prefer and follow, these new widgets are designed to be interactive, engaging, informative and entertaining.

Because the information is updated 24/7, sports fans can expect to find something of interest no matter what time of day theat they visit the Journal Tribune website and sports page.

This new content will compliment local and regional coverage already provided to readers by our sports team consisting of Associate Sports Editor Alex Sponseller and Assistant Sports Editor Taylor Morrison.

It adds a new dimension and scope to what they do and broadens the ability of the newspaper to provide the very latest sports news that our readers deserve.

Our commitment remains to bring our readers compelling and interesting content on the cutting edge of technology and these new widgets live up to that goal.

Our sports team is excited to bring this new content to readers and hope as many people as possible take advantage of these new widgets.
