AUBURN — The Mt. Ararat High School girls jayvee basketball team battled back throughout a hard-fought contest against Edward Little recently.

But in the end, the Eagles came up a bit short in a 42-38 overtime setback to the Red Eddies, dropping Mt. Ararat to 4-5 on the season.

EL led 8-4, 18-17 and 26-22 at the quarter breaks, but the Eagles forged a 34-34 deadlock to force overtime.

Ainsley Bryant led the charge for Mt. Ararat with 15 points, while Alexa Eaton chipped in 12. Grace Liedman had six rebounds and tied the game late in regulation, with Ashley McCourt providing a solid floor game.
