AUGUSTA (AP) – Officials say farm-raised salmon from Eastport, Maine, was on the menu at the inauguration of President Donald Trump in Washington.

New England fare was well-represented at the event with attendees also dining on Maine lobster at the luncheon on Friday.

The Maine Aquaculture Association says Atlantic salmon raised at the Cooke Aquaculture farm in Eastport, Maine, was shipped to Washington, D.C.

It was smoked and served on Thursday by the executive chef of the Blair House, where Trump stayed the night before the election.

The association’s executive director tells the Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/2jLz7Sc ) that having the salmon served is “a real honor.”

The lunch with lawmakers took place following the swearing in of Republican President Donald Trump.
