Caitlin Tycz, Brunswick swimming: A senior bound for the University of Southern California, Tycz set school and Bath Area YMCA pool records of 5 minutes, 2.05 seconds Friday in the 500-yard freestyle in a dual meet with Morse. Tycz has 7 of 8 individual school records and is ranked first in Class A in all seven of those events. No other girl in Class A has come within 20 seconds of her 500 free time.

HONORABLE MENTION

Anna DeWolfe, Greely basketball: The sophomore was a picture of consistency in three wins for Class A South’s top team. She scored 23 and 25 points against Gray-New Gloucester (12-1) and Marshwood (11-3) last week, and added 23 against winless Cape Elizabeth.

Sophia Pompeo, Cheverus/Kennebunk/OOB hockey: The sophomore scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Stags past Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland 5-4 on Saturday.

Olivia Tighe, Cape Elizabeth swimming: The sophomore anchored two school record-setting freestyle relays against Kennebunk. The Capers swam 1:40.05 in the 200 free relay and 3:39.31 in the 400 free relay, just missing the state record.

Tanner McClure

Tanner McClure, Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach/Bonny Eagle hockey: The senior forward from Bonny Eagle had two goals and an assist Saturday to record his 100th career point and help the team rally from a three-goal deficit to beat Portland, 8-6. He also assisted both goals in a 2-2 tie with Gorham.

HONORABLE MENTION

Alex Glidden, Cape Elizabeth hockey: The junior had two goals and three assists as the Capers (7-4) shut out South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete, 9-0. Glidden also notched two assists in Cape Elizabeth’s 5-4 overtime loss to Cheverus.

Cameron Lovejoy, Kennebunk basketball: After scoring 14 points in a 47-39 overtime upset of Westbrook, the sophomore scored 20 of his 26 points in the second half and made four 3-pointers in a 53-44 win against Fryeburg Academy. Kennebunk improved to 6-9.

Shane Moore, Cheverus swimming: A senior, Moore set two pool records at the Casco Bay YMCA last Thursday in a dual meet with Yarmouth. He swam 1:58.26 in the 200 individual medley and 1:01.37 in the 100 breast. His times are ranked first in Class A in six events.
