Sanford police are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman suspected of taking her children illegally.
Police did not provide Sarah Belmore’s age or place of residence, but said she is 5 feet, 1 inch, weighs 125 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair. It’s likely that she will be accompanied by the two children, 5-year-old Malaya Markham and 3-year-old Neveah Markham.
Belmore is accused of “criminal restraint by a parent,” which under Maine statute is defined as the parent of a child illegally taking custody of the child from the child’s other parent, guardian or lawful custodian.
Police said they are seeking any information as to the whereabouts of Belmore and the two children. Anyone with information is asked to call Sanford police at 324-9170.
