Never have I felt more proud of my home city, South Portland, than upon reading of the resolution recently passed by the City Council expressly condemning the expression of hatred, violence and discrimination by politicians against some of the newest residents of our country.
I call upon other cities and towns in southern Maine to make similar statements in support of and solidarity with all those with whom we share our neighborhoods.
