The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking public input on its plan to rebuild a major commuter road that connects Portland and Westbrook with Windham and the Lakes Region.

State officials have scheduled a meeting for 6 p.m. March 8 in Windham on their plan to rebuild more than 3 miles of River Road from the Westbrook line north into Windham. The project also calls for replacement of the bridge over Colley Wright Brook, near the Maine Correctional Center in South Windham.

The meeting will be held in Windham High School’s Performing Arts Center, at 406 Gray Road. Transportation officials will hear concerns and comments and answer questions about the project. They say they want to identify residents’ concerns before starting the project.

Anyone with questions about the scope of the project should contact the senior project manager, Ernie Martin, at 624-3381 or ernest.martin@maine.gov.
