SACO — Reginald C. “Bud” Grenier, 92, of Saco, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.

He was born in Biddeford on Oct. 23, 1925, a son of Samuel and Lillian (Roy) Grenier. He attended St. Louis High School and graduated from Thornton Academy.

Bud served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was employed as a truck driver for 35 years throughout New England for Boston Maine Trucking and McLean Trucking. Reginald was a member of the Teamsters Union 340. During retirement, he shuttled cars and trucks for Weirs Motors and Peterbilt of Maine.

Bud was an advanced HAM Radio Operator for over 30 years. He communicated with the space shuttles, the Queen Mary and all around the world. His call handle was WB1FSJ.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Fournier) Grenier on March 4, 2016.

He is survived by his son, Neal Grenier and his wife, Muriel, of Saco.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
