As reported in the March 15 Portland Press Herald (“LePage says Obama used Riverview ‘to poke us in the eye,’ ” Page A1), it appears our esteemed governor is attempting to deflect accountability for the loss of federal certification for Riverview Psychiatric Center by denouncing the Obama administration with unsubstantiated charges of retaliation when all the reports of the situation lay out clear deficiencies and valid reasons for loss of certification.
I believe former President Obama is a man of principle, honor and integrity, concepts that Gov. Mini-Trump does not seem to understand any more than does his hero in Washington, the Tweeter-in-Chief.
I fervently hope that our next governor appoints an experienced manager to head the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and not another politician.
