Bill Nemitz’s April 2 column on the proposed casino for York County and how it is rigged to enrich one particular individual reminded me of how all casinos are rigged to impoverish the vulnerable.
I strongly suggest folks read John Rosengren’s article “How Casinos Enable Gambling Addicts” in the December 2016 edition of Atlantic Monthly.
When it comes to “gaming,” the industry euphemism for gambling, the rules of the game are quite clear: The house always wins, and society always loses.
