A 5-year-old Gorham boy was injured Saturday morning after he shifted a parked car into gear, causing it to travel down the driveway, across the street and down an incline.
Gorham police said the accident happened as family members worked on a project in the driveway on Sebago Lake Road and the boy was playing in the parked car.
The boy was hurt while trying to exit the vehicle as it was rolling, police said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Officials did not release his name, but a dispatcher said Saturday night that the boy remained hospitalized. His condition was not available.
