Noah Edborg finished with five goals and two assists as Thornton Academy beat Deering 16-7 in a Class A boys’ lacrosse game Friday afternoon at Deering High’s Memorial Field.

Thomas Levasseur added four goals and two assists, and John Giroux collected four goals and one assist for Thornton (4-1), which led 7-2 at halftime.

Omar Contreras paced Deering (3-1) with two goals and three assists. Nick James chipped in with two goals and an assist.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

BRUNSWICK 9, CONY 4: Jenna Brooks and Anna Davis each scored three goals to lead the Dragons (3-1) to a win in Augusta.

Mikaela Aschbrenner made six saves for Brunswick.

Lauren Coniff scored twice for Cony (2-2).

BASEBALL

GARDINER 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 6: Marc Cloutier, Logan Porter and Sam Jermyn paced an 11-hit attack with two hits apiece as the Tigers (3-3) defeated the visiting Eagles (1-4) in a game stopped in the sixth inning because of rain.

Ryan Kelly contributed an RBI double and winning pitcher Hunter Chasse had an RBI single during a four-run fourth inning that enabled Gardiner to build a 9-2 lead.

Lincoln got two runs in the first and four in the fifth.

GARDINER 8, LINCOLN ACADEMY 2: Meaghan Meehan had two hits and drove in three runs to lead the Tigers (5-1) past the visiting Eagles (0-4) in a game called after six innings because of rain.

Jillian Bisson struck out seven and scattered five hits.

Kortney McKenna had two hits and an RBI for Lincoln.

SKOWHEGAN 13, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 1: Sydney Reed had three singles and scored four runs and Sydney Ames pitched a one-hitter for the Indians (4-1) in a five-inning win over the Broncos (1-5) in Hampden.

BANGOR 7, MESSALONSKEE 2: Emma Payne doubled twice and added a triple for the Rams (6-0) in a win over the Eagles (1-5) in Bangor.

THURSDAY’S SOFTBALL

NOBLE 4, MARSHWOOD 2: A three-run first inning was enough to support the pitching of Raegan Kelly as the Knights (6-1) beat the Hawks (2-3) in South Berwick.

Kelly allowed just two hits while striking out eight. Mackenzie Aleva had two of Noble’s four hits off Marshwood pitcher Kaylah Eastman.

Molly Glidden hit a two-run double in the fourth inning for Marshwood.
