I’m so glad that the Maine Sunday Telegram is now assessing noise levels in its restaurant reviews, but to be useful, these ratings need to be clear.

The noise level rating for Tipo (in the review published April 30) was “selfies at the Trevi Fountain.” What does this mean? I’ve no idea.

I found the food and service at Tipo (which we visited before this review was published) to be wonderful, but the noise level deafening.

Unfortunately, this review would have given me no idea of the unpleasant experience we would have eating at this new and popular establishment.
