If Ethan Strimling truly believes he is entitled to a raise above his $71,000 salary, as well as a vehicle allowance, he should make his case publicly to the citizens of Portland, citing his actual accomplishments – not just the number of news conferences he has called or media appearances he has made to promote himself. We are, after all, the ones who will have to foot the bill for this proposed largesse.
I look forward to the chance to hear directly from the mayor – although I suspect that such a public session might reveal only that he is suffering from delusions of adequacy.
