STANDISH — Noah Edborg scored four goals Tuesday to lead Thornton Academy to a 19-6 victory against Bonny Eagle in a boys’ lacrosse game.

Jon Giroux and Jaden Wells each added three goals for Thornton (9-1).

Spencer Shields led Bonny Eagle (3-6) with three goals. James Conley recorded 17 saves.

CHEVERUS 16, WESTBROOK 6: Michael Hatch scored five goals, and Maxwell Coffin added four goals and two assists as the Stags (7-3) cruised past the Blue Blazes (1-8) at Portland.

Colby Anton added two goals and an assist, and Christopher St. John had a goal and two assists for Cheverus, which led 12-0 at halftime. Connor Dougherty scored three goals for Westbrook.

SOUTH PORTLAND 13, PORTLAND 6: The Red Riots (7-3) scored all of the nine goals in the second half to defeat the Bulldogs (2-8) at Portland.

Ross Myers led South Portland with five goals. David Fiorini added four goals and three assists.

Wes Bryant scored three goals and T.J. Flynn recorded 14 saves for Portland.

GREELY 15, FREEPORT 5: Andrew Lawrence scored five goals as the Rangers (3-7) cruised past the Falcons (2-7) at Cumberland.

Ben Kennedy scored three goals and Schuyler Wetmore added two for Greely, which led 9-4 at halftime. Connor Dostie scored twice for Freeport.

BASEBALL

WELLS 4, YARMOUTH 2: Gary Andrews drove in the go-ahead run with a single during a three-run fifth inning for the Warriors (9-4-1), who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Clippers (9-3) at Wells.

Andrews’ single drove in Matt Tufts, who tied the game with a two-run double. Cameren Cousins allowed two runs, three hits and four walks, striking out four to earn the win.

Yarmouth took a 2-0 lead in the first on a suicide squeeze from James Waale that scored Chris Romano and Gibson Harnett. Wells added a run in the sixth on a single by Tyler Bridge that scored Liam Bell.

SOUTH PORTLAND 4, MARSHWOOD 0: Sam Troiano pitched a two-hit shutout and the Red Riots (10-3) broke the game open in the fifth inning to beat the Hawks (3-10) at South Portland.

Troiano struck out five and walked two, and Riley Hasson had two hits. Leading 1-0, South Portland added two runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Khem Johnston that scored Anthony Perron, and Johnston later scored on a single by Hasson.

Kobe Lauzier of Windham is tagged out Tuesday while trying to slide through Noah Frink of Scarborough during the sixth inning of Windham’s 4-2 victory in eight innings at Scarborough.

WINDHAM 4, SCARBOROUGH 2: Tanner Bernier hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, scoring Cam McCartney and Mike Gilman, to lift the Eagles (6-7) over the Red Storm (6-6) at Scarborough.

McCartney reached on an error in the fourth, advanced on a passed ball and later scored on a Bernier sacrifice fly, but Scarborough answered in its half of the inning when Zoltan Panyi and Zach Alof singled, moved up on a groundout, and Panyi scored on an infield error.

The Red Storm took the lead in the fifth when Wyatt Plummer doubled, then scored on a Panyi double.

The Eagles tied it in the sixth when Gilman singled in McCartney.

LAKE REGION 5, KENNEBUNK 4: True Meyers pitched six shutout innings as the Lakers (5-7) held off the Rams (3-10) at Naples.

Meyers allowed four hits, and Luke Porter and Tristen Chaine each had two hits and an RBI for Lake Region. Matt Smith had two hits for Kennebunk.

PORTLAND 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Dominic Tocci hit a two-run double in the third inning, and the Bulldogs (10-2) held on to beat the Tigers (7-6) at Portland.

Biddeford scored in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Colin Lavigne that scored Joey Curit, who led off with a double. Tocci extended Portland’s lead to 3-1 in the sixth, scoring on an error after leading off with a triple.

Donato Tocci picked up the win, allowing a run on a walk and five hits, striking out four in 6 2/3 innings. Brady Crepeau of Biddeford allowed three runs on five hits and a walk, striking out five in six innings.

CHEVERUS 7, WESTBROOK 0: Cam Dube had a pair of singles for the Stags (12-1), who took advantage of five errors to score seven unearned runs and shut out the Blue Blazes (5-9) at Westbrook.

Derek Higgins had the only extra-base hit with a double for Westbrook.

Jack Casale of the Stags allowed six hits, striking out three and walking one.

SANFORD 3, DEERING 2: Leyton Bickford singled in the winning run in the ninth inning as the Spartans (4-9) defeated the Rams (5-7) at Sanford.

Sanford scored in the fifth on a single by Bickford, and Nick Liston added an RBI single in the sixth.

Deering then scored two runs on errors in the seventh inning to tie the game at 2-2.

THORNTON ACADEMY 13, NOBLE 4: Tim Smith had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs as the Trojans (8-5) beat the Knights (4-8) at North Berwick.

Grant Dow added two hits and two RBI for the Trojans, who scored three runs in the first inning and four in the second to take a 7-2 lead. Jackson Vandenburg doubled and Kasey Rogers drove in a run for the Knights.

ST. DOMINIC 5, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4: The Saints (9-4) scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and defeated the Seagulls (6-5) at Auburn.

St. Dom’s took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, but Old Orchard Beach made it 4-4 in the fifth.

GORHAM 10, MASSABESIC 0: Kyle King was 3 for 4 and drove in three runs as the Rams (12-2) shut out the Mustangs (2-10) in five innings at Gorham.

Jason Komulainen went 2 for 4 and drove in three runs for Gorham. Brogan McDonald, David Drew and Ben Nelson each added a pair of hits.
