The 16th annual Blue and White Golf Classic was held at the Bath Golf Club on June 9.

Over 140 sponsors and 200 golfers contributed $45,000 to the Morse High School Scholarship Fund in the name of this year’s 50th Morse High School reunion class, the Class of 1967.

This included $11,000 toward the Elford “Brud” Stover Scholarship Fund.

Opening festivities around the first tee included the recognition of this year’s Morse High School scholarship recipients, the playing of “The Blue and the White,” the National Anthem by the Morse High School band and the naming of this year’s Honorary Chairperson of the Blue and White Golf Committee, Marilyn Reed, who was recognized for her contributions over many years to Morse High School, her class, and the Blue and White Golf Committee serving as a both secretary and solicitor of donor funds.

This year’s Brud Stover Award winners were — gross score Matt Gallant, Jun Mario, Dean Snell, Anthony Spaulding and Anthony Anderson. Second-place finishers Greg Page, Rick Page, Joe Mangiulli, Dave Flaherty, Pete Flaherty and Pat Manuel. Third place Brian Hatch, Garrett Olson, Mike McGuire, Paul Coombs and Rick Davis.

Net score top three were — Todd Marco, Bob Savary, Bob Footer, Gaius Hennin and Mark Harrington. Second place Todd Flaherty, Joe Darling, John Darling, Jason Darling and Harry Inman. Third place Pat Byrnes, Nathanael Doak, Michael Princiotta and Jaime Wallace.

Winners of the closest to the line drive were Kathy Kenyon and Dick Cummings, and closest to the pin went to Mike Wallace on the 13th hole.

Next year will mark the 17th year of this tournament that has raised close to $530,000 for the Morse High School Scholarship Fund.
