BIDDEFORD — Michael “Mike” C. Morissette, 58, of Biddeford, passed away at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a very brief illness on June 5, 2017. 

He was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Laurent and Estelle (Bolduc) Morissette on March 28, 1959. He was raised in the Saco and Biddeford area and after graduating from Biddeford High School in 1977, he entered the workforce operating heavy equipment for various companies including Lucien Bourque, Mike Dee, Danny Spang Builders and Labbe Excavation.

In 2005 he moved to the Jackman area, building his home in Moose River Plantation where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling on the Northern Maine trails. He was a member of the Border Riders Snowmobile Club.

Mike was a very caring person to everyone he met, always giving of his time and treasure.

He was preceded in death by: his younger brother, Leonard Morissette, in 1985.

He is survived by: his father, of Saco, his mother, of Biddeford, his sisters, Caryn (Richard) Lambert, of Biddeford, and Diane (Ben) Demers, of Yulee, Florida, a niece, Justine Demers, four nephews, Jonathan, Joseph and Daniel Lambert and Dustin Demers, and several aunts and uncles.

There are no calling hours, but a graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a future date.

The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at Southern Maine Health Care, Maine Medical Center and especially the caring people at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their compassionate care of Michael.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford.
