AUGUSTA — The Southwestern Maine Activities Association recently revealed its 2017 All-Conference tennis teams, and a handful of players from Thornton Academy made the cut.

The boys and girls had a historic year, each finishing the regular season undefeated and advancing to the conference finals.

TA’s Dariy Vykhodtsev was named to the boys first team for singles. Balasz Balati would be named to the second team for singles.

The boys’ top doubles pairing of Asher Thompson and Adam Lovejoy also made the cut, with each being named to the All-Conference second team.

Eva Sachs was named tot he girls first team for singles, while Emma Nassif was selected to the second team.

The Journal Tribune will be revealing its 2017 tennis All-Star teams this week.
