PORTLAND — The Boston Red Sox have promoted Sea Dogs INF/OF Tzu-Wei Lin to their active roster.  Lin was added to Boston’s 40-man roster and will wear No. 73 and becomes the 9thSea Dog as a Red Sox affiliate to make the jump to Boston from Double-A.

Lin hit .302 (48-for-159) with a career-high 5 homers and 19 RBI in 48 games with the Sea Dogs. During his last three games, Ling went 8-for-13 (.615), HR, 2 RBI and 2 triples, picking up his first career five-hit game on June 21st at Erie.

The Taiwanese native reached base safely in 24 consecutive games from April 10-24, and had a team-high 15-game hitting streak from April 10-May3: 21-for-55 (.396). Entering 2017, Lin had only 6 career homers in 1,568 at-bats).

The Boston Red Sox signed Lin as an international free agent on June 16, 2012. In 2010, he won tournament MVP after hitting .607 in 7 games for Taiwan at the World Junior Championship.  Following the 2012 season, rated by Baseball America as the fastest base runner in the Gulf Coast League.
