A pregnant woman was taken to the hospital after the car she was driving crashed into a utility pole on Fort Hill Road in Gorham early Saturday.

Gorham police said the crash happened around 1:20 a.m. between Spiller Road and Dingley Springs Road.

A dispatcher said he didn’t have the woman’s name or condition, but the report he had indicated she was pregnant and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland. The dispatcher said he didn’t know if she was taken to the hospital as a precaution or if she had been injured in the crash.

The section of Fort Hill Road where the crash occurred was closed until about 7:30 a.m. to allow crews to make repairs to damaged utility poles.
