A two-car crash on Route 1 in Warren on Monday evening sent two people to the hospital with injuries.
Tim Carroll, chief deputy for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, said April Pease, 28, of Pittston was unable to stop in time to avoid a northbound vehicle in front of her and lost control.
Pease, driving a 2006 Chevrolet sedan, headed toward a ditch, over-corrected and missed the vehicle she was trying to avoid, but went into the southbound lane of Route 1 and hit a 2011 Honda sedan driven by Richard Zauft, 63, of Sudbury, Massachusetts.
Zauft and a passenger in his vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Pen-Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Pease was issued a summons for making an illegal pass, Carroll said. The accident was reported just after 5 p.m.
