Celebration Barn Theater, 190 Stock Farm Road in South Paris, presents Mike Miclon’s “The Early Evening Show,” with Hilary Chaplain, René Johnson and show regulars Fritz Grobe, Shane and Collin Miclon and the Early Evening Show Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
“The Early Evening Show,” a spoof of late-night talk shows, has been performed from Maine to Switzerland and built its reputation with a 14-year run at the Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield. It’s the longest running live variety show in Maine.
Chaplain has performed her original solo and ensemble work for more a decade in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Asia. She also is a founding member of the New York Goofs, appearing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and touring with Bob McGrath from “Sesame Street.”
Johnson is creative artistic director of the Theater Ensemble of Color and a member of the Lorem Ipsum Theater Collective, both based in Portland.
