There will be a preview sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with an admission fee of $5 (members free), with the main sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Dr. Joseph Hall of Bates College will explain how Maine’s native Wabanaki tribes cultivated ties to their homeland even as they were displaced from it and how our landscape is described through their place names.

Grange invites public to open house Sunday

Highland Lake Grange will host an open house from 2 to 4 pm. Sunday at 9 Hardy Road in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the National Grange.

The event will feature a birthday cake, door prizes, local trivia games, refreshments, tours of the building and a slide show presentation.

A penny drive also will be held, inviting those who wish to donate to bring in their pennies to directly benefit the House in the Woods at Lee, a charitable organization that provides free outdoor retreats for military members and their families.
