Re: “LePage says misuse of public access law is disruptive, costing ‘thousands’ ” (July 27):
Gov. LePage now proclaims that the public access law is meant to disrupt his administration. Why? Because the Portland Press Herald has requested that his office document the $35,000-plus he and his minions spent on luxury hotels and restaurants during their Washington, D.C., junkets last spring.
This is taxpayer money. We have a right to know. But LePage doesn’t think so, and his office has so far resisted coming clean.
So how much “plus” over $35,000, we don’t know. But the governor is taking Mainers for an expensive ride, that’s for sure.
