$5,000 goes to Waterhouse Field project

The St. Louis Alumni Association recently presented a check for $5,000 to the Biddeford School Department to support fundraising efforts to renovate the historic Waterhouse Field.

Alumnus John Thibault said, “We are fortunate to have an association which remains active, and honored to support youth athletics in Biddeford. Waterhouse Field is an important part of this community, and we are pleased to be able to support the renovations that are unfolding.”

The old bleachers that provided seating for generations of school sports fans and countless graduations were deemed potentially unsafe and removed in April. Plans call for installing new lighting, a scoreboard, a press box, perimeter fencing and temporary seating in September, with new bleachers expected to be installed in late fall.
