Would someone please tell me why the Maine Sunday Telegram cannot, or does not, have a restaurant critic who can produce a column once a week? With all the restaurants in the Portland area, not to mention all of Maine, I cannot figure out a reason why the Audience section restaurant review is so sketchy. He writes every other week, he skips two weeks in a row, he’s on vacation, etc.

With fewer people reading newspapers, I would think the Press Herald would make it a priority to have write-ups that are of local interest and not from the Associated Press, which one can read anywhere.

Really, if you can’t find someone to do a weekly review, then it’s time to have more than one writer.
