A man died Friday morning when the pickup truck in which he was a passenger hit a tractor-trailer in Naples, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.
Brian Bailey, 33, of Bridgton was killed, the sheriff’s office said.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the 2010 Toyota Tacoma pickup Bailey was in was driven by Thomas Ford, 30, of Casco. The pickup truck was headed east on Roosevelt Trail, which is Route 302, about 8:40 a.m. when it crossed the centerline of the road and hit a tractor-trailer owned by National Distributors of South Portland.
Deputies said Ford was taken to Bridgton Hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the tractor-trailer, Timothy Maniatty, 49, of Old Orchard Beach, was treated at the scene of the crash with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, the sheriff’s office said, and is under investigation.
