The command of one U.S. 7th Fleet ship was relieved after a deadly collision at sea that was caused by “loss of situational awareness” – not paying attention to their duties. Now, 10 more 7th Fleet sailors are dead after a second collision and 10 families have lost their loved ones. And all President Trump, our commander and chief, can say is “That’s too bad.”

While the captain of the USS John S. McCain should surely be on the hot seat right now, every officer on up the chain of command – from Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin, commander of the 7th Fleet, to Adm. John Richardson, chief of Naval Operations, should all have their posterior in a sling (Aucoin was relieved of command last week). And all or president can say is “That’s too bad.”

To quote Mr. Trump, “Sad. So sad.”
