BIDDEFORD — New officers have been elected and installed for the St. Joseph Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Officers will serve the council during 2017 and 2018.

New council officers include:

• Grand Knght — Jerry Letellier

• Deputy Grand Knight — Dave McDonald

• Treasurer — Robert Cyr

The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization.  It was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882 and was named to honor explorer Christopher Columbus. 

It is a fraternal benefit society dedicated to providing charitable services, promoting Catholic education and Catholic public policy positions, and actively defending Catholicism in nations worldwide.
