WELLS — One of the most popular annual events in Wells is nearing and promises to deliver fun for the entire family.

The Wells Chamber of Commerce is preparing to host the 9th Annual Family Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Wells Harbor Park in Wells.

Chamber officials say that the jamboree is a fun family day of games, crafts, food, vendors and more. 

The jamboree is entirely free and features games for all ages including a doughnut eating challenge; a ball toss; a beanbag toss; a Frisbee toss; and relay races.

There will be activity booths where participants will be able to make beaded bracelets, to decorate a bag for Halloween, get a temporary tattoo and hairband making.

New to the jamboree this year will be a number of large cut-outs for photo opportunities and pony rides for children sponsored by the Living Wells Farm.

Also on hand for the festivities will be members of the Wells Fire Department and they will be bringing a fire safety trailer and fire engine. 

Numerous craft vendors will be attend the jamboree and plenty of food will be available for purchase. 

Admission to the jamboree, parking and all games and activities are free.

Wells Harbor Park is at 331 Harbor Road in Wells.

Hours for the jamboree will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
