A 17-year-old Skowhegan boy with autism who had been reported missing was found early Sunday night.

The teen left his house on the East River Road around 11 a.m. and was reported missing by his mother about five hours later.

Skowhegan police and fire personnel, a Maine Warden Service tracking team and a warden service pilot responded. The search included boats on the Kennebec River.

The boy was found around 6 p.m. Sunday about a quarter of a mile from his house by a game warden searching the woods off East River Road.

The warden service said the boy was building a shelter and did not require medical treatment.
