BIDDEFORD — Two Biddeford Police Department patrolmen are now officially working on new specialized assignments.

According to Biddeford Chief of Police Roger Beaupre, Patrolman Shara Mike Guzelian and Patrolman Cory Tardif were chosen earlier this summer for new duties following a competitive selection process within the police department.

Guzelian is now serving as Biddeford Police Department’s Domestic Violence Investigator, Beaupre said.

He has been a Biddeford police officer since March 2015 and also served with law enforcement agencies in Florida and Georgia before being hired as a patrolman here.

In his new position, Guzelian investigates incidents or patterns of behavior involving violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation.

Beaupre said that Tardif is now serving as a member of the Biddeford Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit.

Since its inception in 2014, Biddeford’s Street Crimes Unit has strived to keep the city’s streets clean of crime and improve the quality of life for city residents.

Tardif launched his career in law enforcement as a police officer in Biddeford in September 2014.
