OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Barbara H. Conlan, 95, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at St. Andre’s Healthcare in Biddeford.

She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 20, 1921, the daughter of Hampton and Ada (Roberts) Conlan. She was a graduate of Biddeford High School and was part of the graduating class of 1938.

After graduation, Barbara worked for 20 years at Saco Lowell Shops and continued working for an additional 25 years as an accounting and payroll manager for West Point Pepperell, retiring in 1986.

Barbara was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Saco, where she volunteered her time as the treasurer for 12 years.

Barbara was a loving and devoted daughter to her stepmother, Eleanor (Elliott) Conlan. Some of the happiest years of her life were the ones spent in Berwick caring for her great niece, Kelley, during Kelley’s school years. Barbara was an avid sports fan with the Boston Red Sox being her lifetime favorites. During her later years, if she could not have a pepperoni and mushroom pizza from her favorite pizza restaurant, eating lobster prepared in any manner brought a smile to her face.

She is survived by her nephews Michael Russell and his wife Cheryl, John Russell and his wife Kim; great-niece Kelley (Russell) Ogden and her husband Jason; great niece Erin Russell; and, great-nephews Ryan Russell and Sean Russell.
