BIDDEFORD — A shooting overnight in Biddeford sent a victim to the hospital following an incident earlty Friday morning in the city.

Biddeford Deputy Chief of Police JoAnne Fisk said that police received reports of gunshots at the 7-11 store on Alfred Street in Biddeford at 1:15 a.m. Friday.

Fisk said Police quickly surrounded and cordoned off the scene and have witnesses to the incident.

The victim, a man whose name has not been released by police, was taken for treatment to Southern Maine Medical Health Care in Biddeford suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck.

The victim’s condition is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

According to Fisk, police are conducting an investigation into the shooting and could not discolose further details at this time.
