“Americans Hopeful This Will Be Last Mass Shooting Before They Stop On Their Own For No Reason”: Thus reads the headline of a mostly satirical editorial from the Onion (Oct. 2).

It seems that after each mass shooting over the past 10 years, Americans have done nothing, hoping that by doing nothing, the mass shootings would stop. Of course, they didn’t, and they just get worse.

Will America do something about the Vegas massacre? Oh, sure: Probably hotel security will be kicked up a notch. Or the windows will be made of unbreakable glass, so shooters can’t shoot out of then. But I think the biggest breakthrough will be the finding that concerts should not be held outside, or that gatherings larger than 10,000 will be prohibited!

I can’t quote the entire piece, but it is worth reading at http://bit.ly/ 2yVcjVc.

Remember: Guns don’t kill people, hotels do.
