TOPSHAM — Piper Cohen turned away 10 shots as the Mt. Ararat Middle School “B” field hockey team slipped past Bath, 2-0, on Thursday.

Scoreless in the second half, Lydia Monks put home a shot for a 1-0 Eagles lead.

With just 35 seconds remaining, Emelia Linkel completed the scoring off an assist from Jules Dauphinais.

Elvia Beattie, Nadia Rosenberg and Tara Crossman were strong on defense, along with Mt. Ararat midfielders Mari Schultz, Anna Bernier and Mallory Stuart. Up front, Matana Slocum, Grace Kelleher, Dauphinais and Monks took charge.

The Eagles were also in action on Wednesday, downing Auburn, 2-0 for the team’s first win of the season.

Alex Graf, from Lily Stewart, and Slocum from Kelleher, had the Mt. Ararat goals.

Mt. Ararat entertains Tripp on Tuesday.
